about

“Sheer 80s glory with a memorable melody.”
— Mark Zimin (Blow Up, Los Angeles)

“The Vigils are an instinctive quartet with flair for grandiosity that touches upon the more sensible side of post-punk.”
— TheDeliMagazine[dot]com

“The Vigils aren’t metal in the strict sense, they’re very much the metalhead’s rock band.”
— Metal Assault

The Vigils — bursting out of the Los Angeles rock n’ roll scene with a sound that harkens back to mid-80s Damned (Phantasmagoria album) and Sisters Of Mercy replete with saxophones, night scenes, and sunglasses after dark. Vocalist/visionary/vampire Daniel Cieplinski started the band back in 2012 with the intent to combine his love for cinema, punk rock, and new romantic dance music. The Vigils approach their sound not as a retro outfit, but from the heart, pulling from the everlasting influences of their youth. Raised on Night Flight television episodes before the age of the Internet, the band joins Swedish Columbia to debut their single release of the same name.

about

The Vigils Los Angeles, California

The spirit of 50s rock 'n' roll, the attitude of 70s punk, and the sensibility of the 80s new romantics, The Vigils have culminated their varied influences to create a timeless sound, unique in any decade. Strangely reminiscent, guaranteed to strike a few heavy nostalgic chords, and yet at the same time, unabashedly original, unpredictable, and uncompromising. Rock and Roll's for rebels again... ... more

Track Name: Night Flight
Midnight, I was young and going nowhere
Inside, another Friday night alone
While I fumbled through the stations
I found that revolutionary show
Whoa-oh-oh

In the night, our dreams are hanging from the sky
Taking flight, we can run away from this life
Tonight

Outside, the dying autumn leaves were falling
You and I, lying in each others arms
With no time to think about tomorrow
I knew that our love wouldn’t be forevermore
Whoa-oh-oh

In the night, our dreams are hanging from the sky
Taking flight, we can run away from this life
Tonight

Midnight, I was young and going nowhere
Inside, another Friday night alone
While I fumbled through the stations
